Foraging into the realm of biography, Martin Scorsese tells the story of the eccentric & troubled Howard Hughes. A man of the 30's & 40's who fought the government to keep the U.S.A.'s airways free from being monopolized by PanAm. A man who was devoted to advancing aviation every chance he could. A man who discovered Jean Harlow (surprisly played by Gwen Stefani), had a long-term relationship with incomparable Katherine Hepburn (played by Cate Blanchett) & dated the beautiful Ava Gardner (played by Kate Beckinsale).

Many of the shots Mr. Scorsese used to tell the story were both creative & artistic. Some a bit obvious that would not have been possible without the technology of today. As for Leonardo DiCaprio's performance, once again I have to tip my hat to him. Not since Baz Luhrmann's ROMEO+JULIET have I seen Mr. DiCaprio dedicated to such a part. Without going too far or underscoring it too much, the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder was handled seriously & respectively. Although the movie has a running time of 2 hours 30 minutes, the pace of the movie never slowed to a crawl or rushed too fast.

So far I've heard the film has been nominated for a Golden Globe. I don't believe it's the best picture I've seen this year, but in my opinion it's definitely a good film to experience.
